FIVE years!

This is an old card and I found the pictures on my computer so I am sharing. I made this card for my 5th wedding anniversary. I actually had a hard time getting inspired, I find it very, very hard making male cards! This is what I did.

1. Cut 1/4 in strips from 3 different papers. (the solid blue was actually from a card given to us on our Indian wedding).
2. Glue strips on a scattered pattern on the card.
3. The 5 hearts on the top was from a old card kit I had, do not know the name. 4 of them were transparents I used Alcohol Ink from Ranger- Sail Boat Blue
4. Glued hearts.
5. Stamped message from Fiskars All Year Greetings  clear stamp set.
6. Glued 5 embelishments.

  • Pattern Paper
  • Clear Stamps
  • Glue
  • Hearts
  • Ink for hearts
  • Ink for message
  • Embelishments

Just Because Card

I have realized that I don't send 'just because" cards. So today I made one for Deepak, and I am making a point to make more for other family members and friends. I feel like it is so nice to just receive a card on the mail. So that is a goal for me this year!

I put a black cardstock to have a nice border.
I cut .5 in hearts from the cricut cartridge. I drew 3 lines with the sharpie and randomly put the hearts on the lines. Then I stamped the Love You.
 Then I added the rhinestones.
To add a little shine to the wood heart I added glossy accents to it.

To tie everything together I took 3 extra hearts in yellow, blue and purple and glued them to the inside of the card.

  • Recollections Square Card 5.5 X 5.5
  • Recollections Cardstock- black and white
  • Studio Calico Wood Veneer (wood hearts)
  • Ranger Distress Ink- Barn Door (on the wood heart)
  • Ranger Glossy accents (on the wood heart, also used to glue all the heart on the card)
  • Sharpie- Black (I would normally use a acid-free marker but I could not find mine)
  • Cricut Cartridge- Plantin SchoolBook
  • Fiskars clear stamps- All Year Greetings
  • Staz On Ink- Jet Black

Laptop Sleeve

So Deepak got me a new computer for Christmas and I needed something to protect it. I could not find a sleeve that I liked so I made one. I made it up from 2 different patterns. The one you see below is the second one I made. The 1st one was a little rough around the edges. This one is finished well and fits my computer like a glove. I am so proud of it!

Materials Used:
  • Heavy Duty Interfacing--the one that looks and feels like padding 1/2 yard
  • Home Decoration fabric  1/2 yard
  • Velcro
  • Matching Threat
  • Bias Tape
